Probably the cave the Bedouins first looted and brought the initial find to light. Due to some Israeli heavy-handedness, they ran away and refused to cooperate with Israeli archaeologists, instead selling most of the scrolls to some Franciscan monks, in whose possession they remained until 1967, when the IDF took possession of the Rockefeller Museum, and let Israeli architects set up shop there. The rest of the scrolls and fragments, in the hands of the Biblical College remained under wraps until 1992, when someone published photographs or micro fische. Don’t recall the details.
