“One is never OK after a stroke.”

Not so-—there are various types of stroke.

The thing about Harry Karl that’s scary....Debbie said in her book she married him b/c he showed “lots of attention” to her now-fatherless children.

But Carrie wrote that Harry paraded around them as little kids without shorts....his privates hanging out.

Signs of pedophilia, IMHO.

No word on if Harry ever molested them....but kids tend to block out those things.

Debbie also said that Harry did not seem to enjoy adult sex.....another sign.

Oh, boy. Not good, indeed.

Debbie has admitted she has awful taste in men - backed up by Carrie. But I still love Debbie - my favorite star as a child. So pretty!

So sorry you & other FReepers have been thru such heartbreak. When we buried my father, my grandfather who was quite frail started crying & said, “A parent is never supposed to bury their child.” That line stays with me as one of the saddest things I have ever heard.

I think you’ll like this follow-up to Doris Day being ripped off by her husband and the crooked layer.

Kirk Douglas’ new wife Ann was very smart. After their marriage she said to him, “ Kirk you’re a big star, where’s all your money?” Kirk told her not to worry...he had an accountant and a lawyer.

But Ann, on her own, got an accounting firm to investigate Kirk’s holdings.......they found nothing. Kirk was being robbed....by the same lawyer that robbed Doris.

It took Doris years and a lawsuit to get something....the judge found for her....but the crooked lawyer refused to pay.

Doris had to sue his insurance company....she got ten million-—half of what he stole.

Kirk got some back....his ripoff was nowhere near the amt of Doris’ ripoff.

Very true silver leaf. When my mother was 2 years old, her 7 year old brother died, and her mother (pregnant) died a few days later of a miscarriage / broken heart.

Does anyone notice the sarcasm tag?

I missed it because it wasn't a "sarcasm tag" (/sarc). It was instead a strikethrough text tag (/s)

A failed attempt at humor in all respects I think.

So many great stars ripped off at the height of their fame. Women stars probably most of all. It still goes on unless you’re Barbra Streisand who goes over every penny. I’m not knocking her, either.

Many Freepers use the (/s) as a sarcasm tag.

By the time my mother died in 2007, she had been through the deaths of 2 children, 2 grandchildren and a great grandson. She was one of a very few of her siblings and cousins left. She was nearly 103 and a few years ago, a cousin died at age 109. Her sister died in either 2010 or 2011. She had seen the deaths of a baby plus her three daughters had died the year before. My 3 cousins all died of cancer. My dad’s sister in law is the only one left in that generation. Very sad. What precious memories we all have of them, though. So thankful for them.
