Sure do, I may still have a vial with gold in it somewhere.

Likewise. I remember the shock I received when after several years absence I returned to see it all enclosed.
Patriarch Walter Knott was a great man, business man, and patriot. One of my favorite things to visit at his park was the chapel where an illuminated picture of Jesus would grow in light as a voice enunciated some of His teachings. I wonder if it's still there.
That was definitely a better time in our history.

Did you ever get out to Forest Lawn and the mural?
Knott’s, the alligator farm, and the pottery shack... a little something for everybody.
I know I did, but I was pretty young. Can’t quite remember it.
The Ghostrider is my favorite roller coaster.
True story: I had a friend who had an obsession with reptiles, any reptile, all reptiles. One night he and some buddies (teenage boys) stole one of the Knott's alligators and took it to his house in Long Beach where they somehow secured it in the backyard.
Meanwhile his parents came home from a trip only to walk into the backyard and find the alligator. Next call was to the police who quickly unraveled the mystery of the alligator in the backyard.
Whatever happened to the teenage son I don't know, as we were not that close, but I doubt it was very serious.
Knotts Berry Farm is the best. Great rides and food. They play the Star Spangled Banner every morning before the gates open too.
There used to be a white clapboard church that looked like something out of “Little House on the Prairie.” I understand they moved it out of the main park and way out of the way somewhere. Maybe it “offended” people?
Last time I was at Liberty Hall, my friend and I were the only ones there. The park was otherwise very busy and crowded. I don’t think Californians care much about those things anymore, things like God or American history or the Founding Fathers. It’s sad.
On the upside, the last time I saw the Snoopy Christmas ice show at Knott’s, they included Linus’s speech about what Christmas is really all about, including the Bible verses. This was a few years ago, though. Don’t know if they’re still doing it.
When I was leaving I saw four news helicopters hovering over the area.
I wanted to ride it. Another employee told me they will be offered a two year pass plus meals and other perks.
You mean that wasn’t rain I felt underneath the ride?
IF I had known they were stuck I would have taken a picture of the Sky Cabin ride. I was there today at Knott's.
Depending on who is accurate I heard they are either 125 or 130 feet high, he ladder on the fire truck only go up 100 feet.
This is a good example of why I NEVER get on a ride IF I have the slightest urge to go to the bathroom.
In a way I wish I was stuck up there with them today. I could have negotiated lifetime passes for me and family plus lifetime front of the line passes too.
When they started closing down the rides and made all of us evacuate the area I knw something (besides the Sky Cabin) was up. I saw four news helicopters overhead as I was leaving the place.
They still recite that during the Ice show that I saw twice today. I was there and saw the stuck riders even though I did not know it was broke down with victims in it at the time.
Ghostrider is very smooth now that they replaced the top of the wooden track.
Loved the stagecoach, train and Liberty Hall.

When I was about 12 I remember going to a ‘dude ranch’ around Lake George NY - I didn’t want to be there and while in a Conestoga wagon some ‘outlaw’ dressed as an Indian - maybe a cowboy?? - anyhow He jumped on the back step of the wagon and this ‘BRAT’(me) looked him in the eye and said he should ‘grow up’.
I think we went home shortly thereafter.......
Rescues complete. All riders down safe.
