Anyone who thinks the NBA plays basketball doesn't know basketball. When was last time a traveling call or hanging on the rim call was made in an NBA game? I guess it would ruin the show if they played classic basketball but I just can't watch NBA games.

1. I’m a San Antonio resident.
2. I’m a fan of the San Antonio Spurs, and I think that the biggest part of the reason for their success over the past 2 decades can be summed up in 2 words: Greg Popovich.
3. I voted for Donald Trump and supported his campaign.
Given all of that, my only reaction to Pop’s statement is:
“Shut up and coach.” Yes, he has the right to his opinion, just like the rest of us, but Pop’s business is coaching, not political commentary. Lots of Spurs fans vehemently disagree with Pop on this issue, and there is NOTHING that will benefit the Spurs by having him continue to spout off.
Again, SHUT UP AND COACH!
I guess you missed the Kansas/Kansas State game where the guy took four steps driving to the hoop to win the game as the buzzer sounded. Right in front of the ref. The zebras miss calls. Of all the NBA’s problems, the crying around here about not calling traveling is very exaggerated.

Why the accusation?! Had President Trump said something about the sport (football?) that was factually untrue?
If not - If Popovich is instead referring to any political statements which President Trump may have made, then he should keep his unsubstantiated accusations to himself.

Unfortunately, professional type play is usually imitated on the college level and filters its’ way down to high school and so forth. It just leads to players not mastering the basic skills of the game which changes the game. I guess showboating is good for ratings though.
