I think Trump was taking credit for the rise of Zucker. He made the Apprentice a household word and then Celebrity Apprentice. Zuker’s career could be said to be formed by the success of Trump. Now Zucker hates Trump.

Wasn't Jeff Zucker at the very center of the controversy that resulted in Conan O'Brien leaving The Tonight Show after only seven months as host? (Go read Bill Carter's book The War for Late Night: When Leno Went Early and Television Went Crazy. That book showed how Zucker botched the transition from Jay Leno to Conan O'Brien on The Tonight Show.)

And it appears Zucker is about to do the same thing at CNN. He's threatening to make even Left-leaning MSNBC look sane in comparison.
