I saw an hour long show about Ranger School. They showed parts from 3 phases, I think part was in Georgia mountains, it seems like part was in North Carolina and the last was at Eglin AFB.

I was an excellent athlete in college but after seeing that, I would not even try. Also would not try Seal training or Air Force Para Rescue. I would not even volunteer for Marine training for that matter.

When I was at Benning for Jump School, several of my classmates were also at Benning, for other training. They really tried to get me to sign up for Ranger School, but I knew my limitations, such as not being a runner, need for sleep, etc. My branch was Air Defense Artillery, so it wasn't a huge prerequisite for promotion.

As it turned out, about a third of my class of 20-22 would get their Ranger Tabs, over half of us got our jump wings.

BTW, this was during the month of November, almost guaranteed to get a case of hypothermia.
