I’m glad he has a sense of humor about it. Turning a mom care package into a 3D nagging harangue isn’t really a good thing. Makes her seem like a shrew even if the guy had been lazy and not done what he was supposed to do. Maybe text, email or a phone call would have been better.

No, this makes the point. It's good parenting.

For example: I have a daughter that went through a slamming door phase when she was 13. I removed her bedroom door and put it in the garage for week or two. No discussion, cajoling or begging worked. Loving action solved the problem, she got the message, and her parents got respect.

When I was in graduate school I had a roommate who always left the kitchen a total, fermenting mess. He finally took notice when I piled up all the dirty dishes on his bed.
