Apparently, Altama makes a quality boot modeled after the original jungle boot. You can see it here:

The "original" jungle boot was actually manufactured by Palladium, who had been the manufacturer of tires for aircraft landing gear in pre-war France. After the war, they went into making boots and shoes and their design was adopted by the French Foreign Legion, and later elements of the IDF. Palladium is still in business, now a division of K-Swiss, and like most other shoes are now made in Asia.

I have a pair I bought for casual wear, and they are exceptionally comfortable, kind of like Chuck Taylors with a lug sole. The heel cup isn't that firm and they only give about as much ankle support as a pair of high-top basketball shoes so I'd never use them for serious backpacking, but they are perfect for day hikes and general walking. They come in a lot of different colors and materials and are not super expensive. Less than most pairs of quality running shoes and hiking boots:
