See. Those are perfect examples. Anybody roughly 65 and older can bawl there eyes out, depending on their life experience and their health and meds effects.

What a story, your grandfather.

Thank you, Rita. He got no respect from the matriarchy who ran his family (my grandmother, my great aunt and my mother)but he brought home the dough while the rest of them sat in the kitchen drinking coffee and coffee cake.

I don’t mind seeing people cry. It’s when they cry at the drop of a hat that I roll my eyes.

And I include women in that circle of crybabies.

I grew up when men were more restrained, but I’ll admit I’ve really been enjoying all the dem tears since they realized Hillary lost. Every single tear. I’m not tired of winning yet.

Not sure if "crying men" applies, but it is great:

I experience extreme agony 4-5 times per week. I have seen a LOT of doctors, and none has been able to come up with a name let alone a cure. The pain's epicenter is in my left toe's joint. I've had epidurals and direct application of cortisone. It usually comes on in the early evening and can last up to four hours. It is excruciating and brings me to the brink of tears regularly; sleep is impossible. I'm going to break down eventually, but I'll do it in private.

I cried when my wife and parents died.

I am so sorry for your loss, and your mistreatment.

Thank you. But that's OK, it was my wife who did that. I don't blame her for being upset. I was the one who had to tell her that her perfect first-born child was dead. That tore my heart out, I tell you. Marines call, have to talk to me, face-to-face. Drive 45 minutes back home from an aborted business trip in the rain to get the news. Tell my younger one when he gets home, then drive to my wife's work. Sit her on a couch and tell her he's gone. SCREAM, SCREAM, SCREAM ... Hard to cry when part of you dies.

I do not like to see any adults openly crying in public except in the most extreme circumstances. But crying while discussing or commenting on media? Crying to get one’s way in an argument? Crying at work when called down by the boss? Absolutely not. Men or women.

Both sexes cry. If it’s for a genuine reason it doesn’t bother me. I hate manipulative tears, though, from anyone.

None of the men in my family are big criers. But I don’t mind men crying if it’s natural for them. Sometimes crying makes me feel better.

Isn’t that interesting how your granddaughter’s instincts told her to steer clear because of his crying. Good for her.

I remember blubbering a little bit over a sports loss when I was about 8 years old and boy my dad didn’t like that one bit. He straightened me out and I never did it again. At the time I didn’t understand why he came down so hard but I understand now. Thank God for dads for holding the line on that kind of thing.
