Housemate’s 90+ yr old dad cried when pet poodle died. Was loathe to cry over much of anything re people. Not seen as manly or tough enough. Me: powerful pain, joy, relationship stuff deserves tears—even with men. Mature vulnerability without sniveling wimpiness is a plus.
