Well it depends how you die. If you die in your sleep you probably won’t be too scared, but if you are strapped into a chair being forced to listen to a Hillary speech it would be terrifying.

I watched my Dad die at only 69. He regretted not living longer when cancer finished him.
I do not believe he was “afraid,” since he faced enemy fire on Okinawa, was seriously wounded, lived a full life.
He deeply loved his family. His spirituality was non-denominational.
He prepared for retirement, and getting cut short was a disappointment. But not afraid.
A merciful god indeed. So merciful that he’ll subject you to the worst tortures imaginable for all eternity for the ‘crime’ of not believing in him.
Even if I did, why would I worship such a spiteful entity? Fear of damnation? What’s the point?

Atheists act like know-it-alls and are cocky when spewing their faith.
They’re a little less cocky when they’re soon to face life after death.
I’m not afraid at all. Never have been. I’ve had a ‘near-death experience’. Just this incredible calm.
The Atheists that I know want to live as long as possible. They may not “fear” death but they don’t welcome it and want to postpone the inevitable.
I see this all as temporary.
If I were to leave tomorrow, I have no dependents and my debts are settled. People would mourn but they’d move on.
I hope when my time comes it's by getting hit by a meteorite out in public somewhere... something really spectacular!
For the faithful, there’s the desire to go home, and a bit of impatience. I honestly don’t understand people who want to extend their own mortal lives, except perhaps those who bravely soldier on in the hopes of convincing even one more of their fellow souls to find their way to the Path of Eternal Life. In that case, if it saves even one soul, isn’t it worth it?

As for me, when I was diagnosed with Leukemia and told approximately how long I had, it didn’t faze me.
It pissed me off, but it didn’t faze me.
Why did it piss me off, because I am getting ripped off by Social Security and Medicare. All that money I paid in and I’ll never get it back.
I passed the “best guess” minimum Life Expectancy last year and the “best guess” maximum Life Expectancy has been increased because of new Treatment options for my Disease.
Unfortunately, the same Chemotherapy Drugs that have kept me alive all these Years resulted in my contracting a second type of Leukemia. You roll with the punches.
Funny thing, I am not that Religious. I just believe in a Higher Power and I know all of this not a coincidence.
That being said, I am a non practicing Catholic but I tell everyone I know to be sure to get a Priest to give me Last Rites whenever I fall over just like John Wayne did.
