"I get in here at 5 o'clock when they open. I have to get up at three," Maurer said to a customer.

"A feeling deep in your soul Says you were half now you're whole No more hunger and thirst But first be a person who needs people People who need people Are the luckiest people in the world..."
Good for her. I bet she works twice as hard as the slacker teenagers also working at Mickey D’s.
She started at McDonald’s the same year I did.
I have consistently told my children, that if a I lost everything and had to start over working at a McDonald’s or place like that, that I would be a manager within one to two months. Work ethic trumps young and energetic every single time.
Haven’t seen any teenagers at any fast food places around for a long time. Mostly middle-aged and elderly now....................
One would think she would be President by now.................
94-Year-Old Woman Has Worked at McDonalds for 44 Years and She Eats It Every Shift ^
Good for her!
I’m never retiring.
LOL!, that’s what happened to my daughter!
Right out of HS, 18 years old, she went to work for a national clothing chainstore at our local mall.
Within three months, she was a manager.
One day she said to me, “Dad, these people are stupid!”
In what way, I replied.
“These people, I give them a task, like putting new clothes on the shelf, even give them a picture of what it’s supposed to look like, with instructions and arrows pointing to the merchandise and what shelf it’s supposed to be on, and they still get it wrong!”
You just graduated from HS, I told her, and that these were the people who dropped out when they were 16, or skipped classes all thru HS and just barely made it with a D average. These are the ‘cool’ people who always got into trouble with the teachers and principals. They are now in their mid twenties, usually with a couple of kids and no fathers to support them and they have no skills or experience to make their living.
It was like a light suddenly went on in her head. She completely understood the situation..................
My wife has a similar story. Started p/t at a retail clothing outlet. Asst Mgr w/in 3 months. Moved to a children’s clothing store as manager and was district mgr <6 months. She could recite their operations manual and did routine tours of stores in other regions to teach the ops manual.
Saw Betty White on a recent episode of Bones. She was sitting in all the scenes..but dang..I wish I could look as good and be as sharp at that age
No question about that, teens don't know how to work. Well I guess my kids do. A 94 year old woman will attract more customers than any automated order taker.
In my area, there’s anecdotal evidence that many fast food workers were not born in this country.
Not making any assumptions about immigration status, just the observation.
There are teen and young adults at Chick Fil A, and Five Guys, but other places, seem to have middle age adults, many of whom are from other countries.
Gas stations seem to employ only people from other countries. Ditto convenience stores.
I'm sure it's just a rumour.................
May God Bless her RICHLY!
Her work ethic is a billion times better than the fat, lazy, slobs that encompass today’s “youth”.
She looks pretty darned good for 94!
I admire her stamina and her attitude. I hope she’s not working because she has to at her age.
Wow, 94. That’s pretty old, almost as old as Madonna.
Wow, 94. Thats pretty old, almost as old as Madonna.
Unlike Ms Ciccone, This woman is happy as a lark.
‘Her strength is as the strength of ten, because her heart is pure.’
