Just got back from the hospital,CT scan reveals I've got colon cancer and it's spread.I think I'm probably a dead man walking.

Its ok with whatever you want to say. We are not in your shoes. I am guessing you are angry and scared. That said, being dead is not your call. It’s God. You do the best you can to fight this, live life to the fullest and know God is in control. We all will be praying for you and for your wife.

Just wanted to add that about 18 years ago my wife had a similar diagnosis, maybe not the same but stage 4 as it had penetrated her bowel wall and gotten into lymph nodes.
She was aggressively treated, chemo (5-FU is the one I remember), radiation, surgery. It was a tough year but she’s still with us and in pretty decent health. Don’t give up hope. I’m sure many prayers have been lifted for you in addition to mine.

It’s just a matter of time. By God’s grace I have lived through some very dangerous events, enjoyed 38 years of marriage and all of my children are dedicated to serving God. But, as I discussed with my wife the other day, we are getting to the age when something is going to happen to one of us, and we need to be prepared. The most important decision in our life is “what think ye of Christ?”

I spent several years starting every day with this song and not expecting to recover (who knew doctors could be that wrong?). Surprisingly, I’m still here and (mostly) healthy now. I wish you well and will pray for you. Do what you can to make the time you have count, and who knows? It might be a lot more than you’re told to expect.
You really don’t know much until they start chemo and radiation. The key is not to give up. Your body will fight as long as you are willing to let it.
Cancer isn’t the death sentence it used to be. Punch it hard, quickly and repeatedly.
Where there’s life — and God — there’s hope.
And God is everywhere.

Don’t give up, friend. Doctors are only men. My dad survived stage four prostate cancer for many years after a six-months-to-live diagnosis. God bless you and yours.
Brother Dean, Thanks for letting us know. we are a community here at FR and you have already been given good advice. I will echo that with that you and your wife will be in my prayers. Stay close to her, it will strengthen you both. We are all on our journey to an eternal home. Get the best medical treatment you can and avoid ingesting anything harmful. There’s a great article out there I read few years ago, 4 habits that harm the immune system. Alcohol, tobacco, coffee and lack of rest. Many doctors add sugar to that as well. God bless you both. Hold onto your wife - in sickness and health.
My Father fought colon cancer for 13 years. They were damn good years full of a life well lived.
It ain’t over for you ... not by a long shot.

I don’t know what the doctor told you but remember that it is not over until it is over! You said you believe so to live is Christ, to die is gain. If your wife knows that you know, it will make this bearable and God will take care of her. As much as I would hate to be faced with the situation, I believe that.
Colon cancer isn’t a death sentence anymore. My brother is a 24 year survivor from stage 4 that involved both lobes of the liver. Get in touch with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston at the Medical Center.
