My wife and I, and 15-year old daughter watch Star Trek every Saturday night, at 9:00 sharp.
I am just thrilled my 15-year old (or any teenager for that matter) digs the original Star Trek shows.

(I have to admit, sometimes I watch Wonder Women, which comes on just before Star Trek on METV - mainly just to ogle Linda Carter. Is that wrong?)

Great list! ‘City on the Edge of Forever’ number one for sure!!!!! I’d move ‘A Piece of the Action’ up a few spots tho.

I think "Balance Of Terror" was one of the best.
A well-written, well-acted episode without any of the goofiness you find in some ST episodes.

Agreed.

It was a loose adaptation of a World War 2 movie about a US Navy Destroyer vs a German submarine.

I liked 15 of your 16 picks.

"Amok Time" is a favorite of mine that's not on your list but it's still a good list.

The only one I took issue with was #12 "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield." To me it's just another one of Gene Coon's preachy stories. It does, however, contain the memorable destruct sequence, which was resused quite effectively in "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock":

Captain James T. Kirk: Computer, this is Captain James Kirk of the USS Enterprise. Destruct sequence 1: code 1-1A.

Computer voice: Voice and code 1-1A verified and correct. Sequence 1 complete.
