Many folks are tired of us playing the role of world-cop.
I can understand that viewpoint.
If a player does use gas on his people and we’re in a position to do something about it, perhaps we should.
How does Trump polish off his credentials early on? Is this a message to global players putting them on notice that the bungling fool Obama is no longer?
I know some folks will say, “But this is Obama policy.”
No, we’re not arming and funding terrorist groups. He was. We’re not attacking Syria for no reason either. If Assad did use gas on his people, that’s reason enough to put him on notice.
This needs to play out more. We’ll learn more. I think we should be patient. That doesn’t mean, be a door-mat, but we have to give Trump time to clarify what intel he had and why he took the measures he did.
We may not like it, but he may be right here.
I don’t want us in Syria, but this isn’t a full scale invasion either. It’s a measured strike.
