Oscar Munoz, the CEO, called the passenger ‘disruptive and belligerent’ and praised his staff for going ‘above and beyond’”. Wow, this CEO is completely incompetent! The multiple passenger videos available on-line don’t lie. Do you think the reason the passenger became ‘disruptive and belligerent’ might have something to do with dragging him out of his paid-for assigned seat bleeding?
I do agree with Munoz on one point, the staff (and the three thugs) did go ‘above and beyond’, just not in a good way. Excessive force is, by definition, ‘above and beyond’.
I haven’t flown United since the 1980s when they overbooked first class on my Hong Kong—>Los Angeles flight by 18 (yes, eighteen!) seats and ‘reaccommodated’ us to center seats in coach for the rather lengthy flight home. I said ‘never again’ after that debacle and have kept true to my word.
“the staff (and the three thugs)”
I have known a few Chicago cops, that crew did not dress like or move like Chicago coppers.
I doubt they attended the Chicago Police Academy?
More like bottom of the barrel rent a cops.
If C.P.D. has dropped to this level, it is over.
