Admiral Ramsey and Air Chief Mallory were both killed in airplane accidents before the war ended.
Leigh-Mallory apparently insisted that his flight to Burma take off, even though the pilot and the rest of the crew thought the weather was too poor to fly. They crashed in the French Alps.
