(Elections have Consequences.)
I saw a UFO. It wasn’t a hubcap or saucer. It hung in the air, wasn’t suspended, it just hung there in the air. I watched for 3 or 4 minutes and could not figure out what it was.
What did it look like? It looked like the top 3 or 4 stories of a bombed out and burned out skyscaper. There wasn’t anything under it or above it. I was at a bus stop at Buzzards point. I pointed it out to a few people and they saw it too. It was an illusion I guess. A UO as it wasn’t flying.
Maybe I was looking into the future. Maybe it was A parallel universe thing. I was sober... it was very interesting that I could not make out what it was, other than what is appeared to be.
So yeah... I believe people see things out of perspective or reference. But that doesn’t mean it’s other worldly, it means you can’t identify it.

"I wonder how many FReepers have seen what they believe to be a bona fide UFO and are willing to admit it?
A friend and I were driving to a wedding in rural Nevada in March of 1972. We had just turned at Mono Lake on California highway 395 and were heading east toward Hawthorne, Nevada. This was before Nevada had speed limits and we were driving in a 1960s muscle car and were going around 105 mph on this long and fairly straight rural highway.
Shortly after we turned on the highway we saw a light ahead on or near the road and didn't think much of it. After about 10 or 15 minutes we noticed that despite our speed the light was not getting any closer. My friend and I then speculated on what it was, my friend saying that it was probably a border agricultural inspection station.
At the point in the drive where we had started speculating on what the light was and had driven about 25 miles the light in an instant was now on the highway in front of us, a brilliant circular cluster of lights that was as wide as the highway and was floating a few feet above it.
My friend who was driving brought the car to a near stop. The car didn't come to a complete halt but was idling forward at around 5 mph. As we moved slowly forward the bright object receded from us so that it always remained about 100 yards in front of us.
After a few seconds or a minute, I'm not sure which, my friend said "I think we had better turn around". When he said that my heart stopped and I realized that it was not a hallucination, and like me, he was frightened. My friend then started to turn the car when the luminous object then vanished in an instant. My friend and I when discussing it afterward had different recollections of how the object left. I recall that as my friends started to turn the car the object in a fraction of a second receded to the horizon (and was just above the horizon) as a distant point of light. My friend's recollection was that the object drifted off to the left of the road and vanished.
I offer no theory on what we saw. It frightened both of us and we decided not to tell anyone at the wedding party about the experience since we felt no one would believe us. As time went on I shared the experience with others and occasionally some bloviating skeptic would offer some conventional explanation of what it was, from a weather balloon to an optical illusion. If only they had been there.
Prior to the experience, I had felt that people who claimed to see UFO's were crazy or delusional or simply liars; I learned otherwise.

Wonder why the 72-73 timeframe was such a hotbed of sightings?

I had a great uncle was a cop in Dayton OH in the 60’s and him and another officer were working night shift and this industrial plant had asked the department to keep an eye on their plant at night, they had a few cases of petty theft and vandalism and this plant butted up against Wright-Pat airbase. It was about 2:30 in the morning and him and his partner pulled up and they each got out and walked around the plant just doing a routine check and they turned the corner of a building at the same time and out over the airfield was a flying saucer as he put it, just hovering about 100 feet off the ground, no noise, total silence.
He said they stood there a couple of minutes, not saying a word, just watching and the saucer shot straight up out of sight. They just kind of stood there a minute and the other officer said to him, did you see anything? No, did you was my uncle’s reply. Not a thing said the other officer, lets get out of here. He told me this story in the early 1980’s, he was dead serious when he told it to me.

Don’t you know the UFO’s have the same blur shield tech as the alien bigfoots do? Doesn’t matter how good your camera is.
