Journalists fire back at ‘dirtbags reveling in ESPN’s layoffs’
Washington Post ^ | April 26, 2017 | Cindy Boren

Job cuts, whether they’re called layoffs or buyouts, are an unpleasant fact of life and when they hit a sports-media company that bills itself as “the Worldwide Leader,” they’re a hot-button target.

Plenty of social media users, unhappy at the network’s emphasis on debate and de-emphasis on news, were happy to see misfortune strike the company. Of course, the people affected have lives and families and mortgages and pets and the company’s Bristol, Conn., campus was “in shock” and “frozen” by the departures of what could be 100 colleagues. Others in media, where layoffs and cuts are frequent, felt their pain, lashing back at the lack of compassion on social media.

ESPN goes on for weeks toward the end of each sports season speculating about which coaches will get fired.
I love seeing these clowns get fired. I hope more get fired.
I don’t care about their families or their pets or anything about them.

Several media observers said that ESPN is talking with MLB Network about joint programming. I wouldn’t be surprised that people reporting for the MLB for ESPN will be from MLB Network with a year.

After reading the article, I was a bit confused that it was in the Washington Post because it actually reminded me of how news articles were written in the good old days as far as facts, information, and zero liberal snarkiness. Then I got to the comments, and every other comment was a unhappy SJW liberal claiming “This had nothing to do with politics!”

Truly, they are beyond reasoning and completely delusional when they have a predicted outcome (because of their politics) becoming reality. Disney who runs ESPN is also watching Marvel Comics go down the drain for the same reasons.

I’m a proud Deplorable dirtbag. I’d like to see ESPN and Disney go belly up.

The mendacious fascists at ESPN ought to be grateful that they’re sitting in the unemployment line and not hanging from lampposts.

Globalist retards have never shed a tear for the deplorables. I hope to see them on steam vents in the wintertime.

I remember back when ESPN first started in 1979 that guy Bob Ley was one of the first announcers on the network. I just looked him up and apparently he has some words on this recent firing.

Bob Ley "Outside The Lines"

Here he was back in the day on the right back when the network was about sports and only sports.

Journalists see their former fans as “dirtbags”? That’s one more confirmation of the reason we’re celebrating Karma.

Sort of funny the same people who call for boycotting states and like never cried about the lives affected.

I think you left out a word because what you wrote doesn't make sense.

I have no idea; but it’s ironic that the “SEC Network” originates from a city in a state without a school that belongs to the conference
