This is true.

I use apt and yum exclusively from Bash because I can't stand the stupid user-friendly GUI interfaces people have written to hide them. They're just as bad as the "Windows Update" GUI, IMO. Gimme a damn Bash prompt, thank-you-very-much!

Frankly, I'm ready to start using the various command line utilities that manage checking for, downloading, and installing Windows updates. I have spent far too many hours of my life already, waiting for that damn "no progress" bar. We hates it, we does.
