Eli Whitney’s invention created a need for more slaves. Not less.
Don’t forget Cyrus McCormick, who invented the horse drawn reaper. Lived 1809 to 1884. Known as “The Father of modern agriculture.” Deere invented the steel plow. He lived 1804 to 1886, IIRC. FWIW.
