That's an open-and-shut case of evidence tampering and obstruction of justice, in addition to any other crimes the officer is guilty of.
Hopefully, the sentence imposed will be significant—perhaps even life—because this was a murder, and there must be accountability when the police do such things.
This (former) officer has now pleaded guilty to depriving a person of their rights under color of law—an act of overt Tyranny—and he should be punished accordingly.
