I think Slager got tired of fighting it. He moved to fire his lawyer, who is very good, a few months ago.
He was put in a bad situation that day. His department was understaffed and he knew he wouldn’t be getting backup anytime soon.
I think it’s interesting that the state will drop their charge if he pleads to a lesser federal charge. Why is there a federal charge anyway?
