4 wins, 1 battle SITREP. This gets us to March 26. I’ve got most of the hard work done up to early May. These DWDB threads won’t be as much a chore now.
Folks, I am so sorry I have been absent. Things have gone into crisis mode over here.
It’s kinda funny: For 7 years, during the Obama terms, I was a Federal Contractor for the CDC. Did great work for them, was even given three different honors, but the time was to move on.
Then, two layoffs (and one voluntary job change). So I said to myself, “Self, the CDC was rather stable. Why not them again?”
Took another Federal Contract position that had promise for a multi-year stint. Six weeks later, the 2017 budget got passed. Two days after that, Lorry (my manager) said to me “Our budget line item got cut 13%. Sorry, you are the last in, so you are the first to go.”
So I have mixed feelings. I am delighted that government got cut, I am horrified that the cut was ME.
So, I have endured my THIRD layoff in ONE year, and that has completely burned me down. The nest egg is GONE. Unless I can put a job together by August, I’m evicted and have to start from ground zero. So, obviously, that’s been what I’ve been focusing on.
I still have time to continue this list, but I’m in trouble.
