Yes I'm aware of it. But the North ended the practice of importing and selling slaves at the end of the 18th. century. The North didn't go to war to end slavery. It went to war to preserve the Union and won. However it was almost certain that slavery would be ended. That's what I've asked you. If the South had won the war would they have ended slavery or continued it? Seems to me if they had won such a victory they most certainly would have continued it. After thats why they went to war. So yes or no? Incidentally I was born and raised in a Northern New Jersey town named after it's most prominent local son General Phil Kearny.

I think the South would have continued it, but probably not for as long as you think. Would the South have been magnanimous if it had won? Who knows? The South wasn't trying to conquer and colonize the North in this affair. It was trying to set up shop on its own.

I'm familiar with your General Kearny. When he was killed, that despicable Confederate general you detest so much sent his body back across the lines with a personal note of condolence.
