I think you are correct, but the case for Russian interference was put into play well before the election. This wasn't an idea generated during the post election panic. The Dimocrats were talking about Russian interference well before the election, I was always wondering what they had in mind.
They found out apparently that someone, an insider, had leaked or stolen their emails. They eventually found it to be Seth Rich. But they invented the Russians hacked their emails to taint anything damaging that came out so as to make it look like it had been tampered with by the Russians, by planting fake Russian names embedded in the ‘hidden’ parts of MS Word docs. These embedded, non displayed ‘notes’ tell who created a document, when it was created and who and when it is modified if it is. By adding the fake modification names and dates, in Russian Cryllic alphabet they make it look like it was ‘tampered with’ by the Russians.
