In Rock, Burton Cummings and Paul Rodgers divided the world between them. There was no third.

Mat king Cole would be in my top three.

Roy Oribison would be #1 for me.

I also think Merle Haggard had a great voice.

Jim Morrison is an interesting choice. I like his style, but not sure if he is the best singer. But - the question was “vocalist” so I think he fits. Innovative, passionate, etc.

“You gotta beep a gunk a chucha
Honk konk konk
You gotta each you puna
Each ya bop a luba
Each yall bump a kechonk
Ease sum konk
Ya, ride”

My other favorites are:

Geddy Lee (Rush)

Jon Anderson (YES)

Jon was singing at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction last month - at 70 years old he still sounds great.

For rock music, John Lennon had a fantastic voice. Twist and Shout comes to mind.
