A few weeks ago we had a thread with a subject of who the greatest male vocalist ever were. There were many great comments on that thread. So for tonight, I am asking who do you think are the three greatest female vocalists ever?
What a wonderful story! I have heard of her & see she has many fans here, but your story is what will make me check her out.
Thank you : )
She writes, acts in lots of movies & has a husband & 3 kids I believe. Anytime I have see her interviewed she comes across as very down to earth. She is definitely a star in her own right. Never had any scandal as far as I know. Maybe you know something we don’t.
Thanks, when I first heard “Blue” I thought it was one of the old stars from the 50s. It had that sound. Couldn’t believe she was just 13.
I never owned that one, but I do have "Chalkmark In A Rainstorm", which preceded it. It's an interesting era of Joni's work. Mature, jazzy, and playful at times.
Aw man, you went and spoiled the joke.
True. I don't think Janis had a pretty day in her whole life. The freak act may have been her way of compensating for it.
Thanks back to you. Two reasons I included Dinah Shore: Fellow I knew in LA who knew her said I look like her. (blush—long ago and far away, alas.). Also, one night while dining at small Malibu restaurant with husband and another couple, I noticed a bright light suddenly shining in the archway leading to another room. Light hadn’t. been there before. As I watched, Dinah Shore emerged from that room absolutely bathed in her own light. Wow. Talk about Star Power.
Why thank you.
Here are some songs by Sandi I recommend.

Tracy Thorne, with out a doubt, is at the top of my list.
I would concur with Beth Orton and Bjork and would add Anne Lenox.

My wife
I am remembering this, so it’s not word for word. She said guys enjoyed drinking w/ her & scr*wing her, but no one wanted to take her out in public or have a relationship with her. She always wanted that. Very sad.
One of my father’s favorite albums was “Pearl.” She was an amazing singer, she sang from her gut.
Thanks so much!
Magda Wojcik of the Polish band “Goya”....
Makes me wish I knew Polish better....

Just MADE MY DAY to see Ann Wilson as the first response. She’s always my first pick especially when it comes to female ROCK singers. Heart is the reason I took up guitar.
Basia Trzetrzelewska. (But you know her as just ‘Basia’)
I recommend this for you and all others that can appreciate talent.
Well, at least, all others.
Rebekah del Rio “Llorando”
