FULL TITLE: Mother-of-one dies after being forced to have FOUR abortions in a year by her husband who wants to have a son

A woman in China has reportedly died after being forced to go through four abortions in a year because her husband wanted a son.

The woman, who had one daughter, was told by her husband to terminate her pregnancies whenever the medical scan showed she was carrying a girl, according to Chinese media.

Her husband was said to have proposed a divorce earlier this year after the woman had been left bedridden by the traumatic medical operations.

According to a report on Huanqiu.com, an affiliation to People's Daily Online, the mother, named Yueyue, gave birth to a baby girl in Shengangzhen of Wuhu, Anhui Province.

However, her husband, whose name has not been revealed, wished for a boy.

So the couple started trying for another baby.

When Yueyue fell pregnant, her husband requested her to undergo an ultra-sound scan to identify the gender of the unborn baby.

And when the scan showed Yueyue was carrying a girl, Yueyue's husband forced her to have an abortion.

The process repeated four times in one year as Yueyue's husband was determined to have a son.

Why do you characterize parenthood as a burden instead of as a blessing?

On what basis do you presume that fathers are less likely to embrace parenthood than you presume mothers are?

“On what basis do you presume...”

Looking through you posting history, you should be asked this same question MANY times.

But to answer your question: my answer is that I have a working knowledge of how humans think & behave. To wit, all humans have a sinful nature, and are prone to selfish, destructive behavior. However, it has been my experience that, on the whole, women are more inclined to be nurturing, and more careful about the raising of their offspring. And why not? That is a major component of their DESIGN.

Does that mean that men are not interested in being fathers, or do not care about their children? Of course not. But I would argue that as our society becomes more & more secular, biblical morality is being replaced with moral relativism. So instead of teaching our children to fight against their selfish, sinful nature, our culture is now teaching children to embrace whatever feels good, and disdain as “bigoted” any hint of biblical-based morality.

And so what do we see more and more of? More abortions, lower birth rates - across the entire western world. And why is that? Because sex is lots of fun, but kids are a LOT of work, and tend to take time away from the “important” things like career or “having fun” - or so the culture preaches.

So women are told to abort if they might be inconvenienced, or because it is not the RIGHT time. And because raising kids takes LOTS of time, effort, and money - and because the unborn are not human anyway, but rather blobs of tissue (or so the culture teaches), and because they have not experienced a new life growing inside of them, men will often encourage (read: “coerce”) their females to abort.

And just to be crystal clear - in case the above gets past you, “I” don’t characterize parenthood as a burden instead of as a blessing - our culture does.

That being said, I agree with most of what you write, I admire & share your passion for life, and along with you, I abhor the cult of death - the so-called “pro-choice movement”. I would only ask that you be careful not to presume someone’s position on a given topic without giving them a full chance to explain themselves. I know, because I’ve been found guilty of presumption MANY times here at FR.

Peace to you.
