WSJ’s review asks why no reference was made to Winston Churchill in the movie.
The writer/director of the movie said he didn’t want “politics” in the show.

I watched it yesterday and there was a mention near the beginning of Churchill, and at the end his speech was read about fighting them on the beaches, so this reviewer is an idiot.

Another one who didn’t see it, or ignored the reference to Churchill at the end.

His “We will fight on the beaches” speech read out of the newspaper by a rescued soldier.

This film was not about Churchill. For that, see “The Darkest Hour” this November.
