I am such a dinosaur that my FORTRAN and COBOL classes in college were with punch cards. After my class finished the computer science department installed the dumb terminals.
My first was a ‘Quantus’ from a mail order magazine. I had to format the hard drive with their long distance telephone help.
I was like a chimpanzee with a circular saw.
Then a Mac Performa 200 with 80 megs and a squealing modem. Still have it in the attic.
As far as all this technical stuff, I was like ‘8-ball’ and his Sherman tank: “I don’t fix ‘em. I just drive ‘em.”
