The news is not really about news. It is an attempt to sell an agenda and products that finance the sale of that agenda. Negative stories generate more clicks and attention than positive stories. The Left is the biggest consumer of the negative Trump stories and even though they are only forty percent of the “news” market, they are voracious consumers of the Left’s media product. This is on top of the human tendency to want more details on negative or bad stories than on feel-good stories. The news is presented as conflict because conflict is drama and drama sells.
What the news purveyors are not handling is the presentation of an overall picture because the overall picture does not support their gloom and doom agenda. The jobs report, the economic reports, the stock market are all heading into new and improved positions. In just six months Trump has turned around the prospects of the entire nation. Now, let’s suppose the Leftist press of all types started reporting this new direction. The Left, their most vociferous users, would howl in anger. Also, reporting the good aspects of Trump’s presidency would make the reporters feel threatened; as if they were helping Trump and further endangering their agenda.
I’d advise turning off the computer. Go out and do yardwork and spend time with the family not discussing politics. Just decompress secure in the knowledge that nothing bad is going to happen and everything good will be reported in a bad light.

I tend to believe that the VAST majority of folks called to GJ duty look at the facts. Nothing more.

Live locally and control what you can control.
Stay off the computer and tune out all media (radio, tv) for the day.
Play with the dog—they never heard of the DC swamp.
Go outside and smell the flowers—they never heard of the DC swamp.
One other trick—if someone starts to talk politics you explain that “nature is calling” and get the f___ out of there.

The side that people are missing is Trump manages by exception. He’ll give someone with “talent” a shot until they fail to perform. Then they’re gone. That means Trump is focusing on the executive branch. We’re seeing changes based on regulation rollbacks and the moaning and groaning of previously entrenched leftist employees.
If Congress does nothing while Trump is in office, he will have still eliminated regulations and reduced positions created by an out of control bureaucracy over the last seventy years.
As for mistakes, he should have never grabbed the healthcare and Saudi tar babies. Both should have been left alone to die from competitive/economic changes.
I prefer the mantra my parents beat into me at a young age, but different strokes... I can not tell you how many times I heard this:
“When the going gets tough the tough get going.”

Drudge feeds that drum beat. He pushes anti Trump poll numbers, Mueller’s investigation etc but ignores Wasserman scandal, Seymour Hirsch finds regarding Seth Rich, Loretta Lynch’s email alias. Why has Drudge turned?

Drudge hasn’t REALLY been a friend for a long time. He is barely better than the rest. Take what he posts with a grain of salt. How many of his headlines screamed that the moving vans where on their way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue any day now?

I honestly hate to turn on my computer anymore and look at the news. I really do.
This is EXACTLY what our enemies what. Don’t take your news from anywhere you don’t trust. F/R is tops. Weaselzippers and Barenakedislam are great Nalaet.com Search them out get the truth. When you see a story on F/R with truth in it book mark the link that came with it and build your own news system.
Finally pray often that the God that gave us Trump will continue to deem us worthy of him as His messenger.
Totally get it. I haven’t watched TV news-—even Faux-—for a year. I check FR but the conspiracy/coup/pearl clutchers are over the top.
I write for www.bigleaguepolitics.com but even some of my co-authors there get carried away.
There are two BIG factors at work, neither of them Left/Right:
1) the new media demands are such that you have to stay ahead of everyone else’s stories. Forget accuracy. Being first key.
So ppl who know better nevertheless feed rumors.
2) the use by everyone (including “our side” like Hannity) use “unnamed sources” means NOTHING can be proven ir checked out. To me this us the greatest threat to truth that ever existed, and THE outlet that puts its foot down & demands public sourcing will dominate for next 50 years
Now, my suggestion—it worked for me—is to completely detox once a week. I shut off everything for a while, inc Twitter, Rush, FR. You will feel so much better, and the world will still be here when you get back.
I go visit my buddy to get a break. Then the other day, he had just been watching the local news - no cable - and he says, “Man, Trump is really f-ing up”.
I didn’t even bother to ask what he meant or what he heard.
