Now, when the day comes that some PhD guy can change the chromosome count....the cards will truly be reshuffled. But then, you might discover that you got newer and bigger problems to worry about, and kinda wish you were at back at starting point.
If you look at this via the evolution business...some ape was sitting there one day and realized that junior was no longer a 48 chromosome count...junior had forty-six, and he was a bit different.
When he moves past being smaller than girls, his voice changes and hair starts to appear around his body, he is really going to be confused. Get this boy some mental health counseling, he has serious depression problems that wearing a dress will not fix.
There. Fixed that.
We passed the “doomed” line decades ago.
A mother who was severely disappointed when her child was a boy, not a girl, then looked for any proof at all that the child himself acknowledged this horrible error of biology. The first time he did anything that she could interpret as stereotypically female, she was thrilled at the confirmation that her little boy understands what a horrible mistake it was for him to be male. After that, she let her confirmation bias flow, and encouraged him whenever he did something that is stereotypically female, and discouraged him from stereotypically male activities.
And now, the poor kid has developed serious mental issues. No doubt, he really wishes he were born a girl. He's probably too young to understand that his mother has been punishing him all along for the unpardonable sin of being born a boy.
There is some irony here. On the one hand, the "transgender" advocates want us to believe that gender is all in our heads and has nothing to do with biology. On the other hand, they have stereotyped activities and interests to the extent that there is no possibility that a true man could ever like to cook, or that a true woman could ever enjoy outdoor activities. They are as rigid (or even more so) about gender roles than anyone ever was in the pre-feminism days (before 1960).
That’s when the puberty blocking chemicals are administered, with who knows what long term health consequences. This is beyond sick.

She’d been born a boy, but in her heart, she knew she was a girl.

Her heart was wrong.
A quick check between the legs would have solved that.
Alas, Brave New Babylon.
The few stories I have read, indicate that after years and years of treatment and promises that life will be better and finally body mutilation, trans people are STILL NOT HAPPY.
It is as if there is some other underlying reason for why they are not happy with the sex that they were born with. Maybe some psychological issue or something. Being sarcastic here.
I agree, and I think the whole society has done that, not just those professionally in the "gender" biz. First, it became axiomatic that anyone who didn't meet an insane standard of "gender" conformity must be homosexual, and now, the "diagnosis" is that one is "really" the opposite "gender."
Pardon all the "quotes," but it's pretty much unavoidable when the whole discussion is so contrary to reality. I wish more people were familiar with history and realized how arbitrary their cultural assumptions of "gender" are. Would they think all the great revolutionaries, scientists, explorers, and duelists of the 18th century were "really female" because they liked fancy clothes - including pink and purple - lace, gold, and jewels?
Not a good thing when they start tinkering with the human genome. Especially with the goal of changing someone’s gender. Scary sci-fi stuff with real long term consequence for the human species.
“Just because we can doesn’t mean that we should.”
Probably a very insignificant. So why all of the brouhaha for a very small percentage of the population?
Answer and my guess: the Left have always been about tearing down social norms. Social norms that hold a society together.
Okay, I confess--I really wanted a little girl because I wanted to dress her up in cute little dresses with bows and lace, etc.
But after giving birth to two boys and realizing that if I kept trying for a girl, I would end up with seven boys who would drive me crazy (because boys will be boys), I gave up on that dream. And never once did it cross my mind to just pretend that the boys were girls and dress them up in lace and bows anyway... anyone who does that to a kid is a monster.
In a way, but I think there's more to it than that. As ExDemMom and I were discussing, the social norms used to allow for a good deal more variation in individual personalities and tastes. Perhaps is was mass media/mass marketing that wiped out the acceptance of human variety, just as it tends to wipe out regional speech patterns and local foodways.
I have four girls, as well as the six boys, and I quickly learned that the bows and lace are scratchy and annoying. I can still get my 5-year-old into a dress if I tell her it’s a costume - “You’re a princess who can turn into a shiny red dragon!” - but she won’t fall for that forever.
Most Americans are very tolerant of people's weird idiosyncrasies just as long as they are not forced to accept them as normal. You can do whatever you want in the privacy of your bedroom... etc.
This is the new “evolution” of the movement — forcing everyone to accept it as normal. Interesting too that there is very little discussion about it from a health perspective. Clearly sodomy is not at all healthy and even dangerous but it is now officially legitimized by the government -- gay marriage.
Exactly.
No they are and the parents sound as messed up as the kid is.
