I am currently in the process of cutting the cord with Comcast, starting with the landline # we’ve had for 26+ years being ported to my new cell phone. After that will be getting an HD antennae, and then looking for a new internet provider. Screw $250 a month for something I hardly use (land line and cable tv). Would rather just have the internet for streaming youtube or netflix. The rest is crap. The antennae will only be for getting local stations so I can watch my Seahawks games.
I did that a couple years ago and I’ve not missed it one bit. What I get off the antenna and through Netflix and Amazon Prime is enough. I also have a Roku that has a bunch of free streaming providers.
I cut the cord with Comcast last December, just kept the internet. Switching to FIOS would be more of the same.
I use an HD TV antenna and pick up 60-70 channels depending on the weather. Netflix and Hulu fill in the gaps in movies and TV shows.
I don't miss paying for 200 channels when I only watched a few.
“The antennae ...so I can watch my Seahawks games.”
In High Def- for free!
Watching sports on an antenna is awesome.
I ditched the land line a looonnng time ago, but cut direct tv the end of last month.
Direct TV was becoming a plethora of infomercials and Spanish language channels along with some commie lib programs sprinkled in. Nothing entertaining or educational.
I’m now set up with my Roku, my TiVo and an HD antenna. Hubs has an XM subscription so he can listen to the news and sports to his heart’s content.
Wish we could cut the chord. My husband wants to watch baseball and the only way is with cable. Comcast is expensive and we watch very few channels.
