Okay so Kims has some impressive numbers.
What these numbers do not tell you is; how many tanks are operational at any given time. Tanks require maintenance and spare parts to maintain them at combat readiness.
How many of the 1.1 million man army are actually armed? How many rounds does each man have for his rifle or other arm?
North Korea is a tragically poor country. I suspect that their army is a hollow shell.
How many MOABs would it take to wipe them all out?
I don’t know about the NK army but some info I got from a guy who was in the Egyptian army under Nasser that is interesting. He said that they spent most of their time playing soccer and helping the harvest. They almost never were issued weapons or ammo and got very little training. While this ha nothing to do with NK it is indicative of how tinpot dictators operate. Such people fear internal rebellion more than external foes. They eliminate competent popular generals for they constantly fear assassination. In addition the NKs are smaller physically than they used to be due to the poor diets they’ve had for decades now. Their army may very well be a paper tiger.
If they have enough soldiers to feed the artillery that will be a problem. But if the general staff is like that of any other tinpot totalitarian regime it is likely to not be very competent. Un would never allow truly competent underlings to exist.
The most important thing they have is rockets and artillery. Any conventional conflict would begin with a two sided artillary exchange similar to what was done in WWI. And unfortunately alot of US troops are in range. To me the biggest issue would be to cripple communications...so nobody could issue a ‘launch’ order.
