Selective Outrage: Sen. Robert Byrd, Democrat KKK Leader and More
GOPUSA ^ | 8/17/2017

Hate is hate, dead is dead. We should stop politicizing bigotry and violence by demonizing some demographics and giving others a veritable pass.

The demonstration by white nationalist haters in Virginia last weekend resulted from the removal a statue of confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

Confederate flag and statue controversies are raging throughout the South. Some view Confederate symbols as disgusting tributes to slave states defeated in the Civil War. Others warn against censoring symbols of a history we should never forget. On the margins are people who wish the South had won.

The movement to eradicate confederate symbols began with then-Gov. Nikki Haley, a Republican later nominated by President Donald Trump as American Ambassador to the United Nations. Haley demanded removal of the Confederate flag from a Confederate war memorial on property of the South Carolina Capitol in 2015.

Every building named after this racist Democrat should be burned down to the ground. The Democrats were the party of the KKK from 1865 to 1965...they all voted against the amendment abolishing slavery, etc., supported Jim Crow.

And Republicans and conservatives should not have picked it up and return to roots. Shame they now defend these things.

A lot of times people have no idea of who is who.

Harry Truman who desegregated the military.

Hugo Black — former KKK, put on the Supreme Court by FDR. Gotta go pull those statues down.

sometimes I wonder why we still have those monuments still up - rhetorical thought, yes i know it is part of our history, but, then I wonder if Germany has any statues of Hitler? The cold hard facts are that the South lost the war. Do you think for a moment that they would have kept the stars and stripes had they won the war?

no need to flame, just think about it that way for just a minute.

The reason we put them up is because they were great men.

Men who the South and the nation should be proud of.

Comparing them to Nazis is despicable.

Last week we drove for hours on the Robert Byrd highway in WV. I want the name of that road changed because he was top dog in the KKK and I was offended.

No, no stars and stripes. If they’d have won the war, they’d have been their own country w/o any need for the American Flag. The war was to enable them to secede, or to prevent it.
Yes, they lost; but in order to make the country governable, the Union had to tread carefully on the memories of the Confederate dead.

I see, the south in trying to secede, are as bad as Hitler in your mind. Do go on.

The cold hard facts are that the South lost the war.

Why wasn't this posted on breaking news! Nobody has ever realized that until now!

Do you think for a moment that they would have kept the stars and stripes had they won the war?

Why wouldn't there be monuments? Is it because they were Nazis? Or maybe because the north is so much more noble, is that it?

no need to flame, just think about it that way for just a minute.

Why don't you think about it? "Your ancestors were like Hitler." "Remember, you lost! Why not tear the statues down?" "But no need to flame." That's how it comes across.

We didn’t fight the Nazi’s Third Reich over political differences we fought them as a matter of survival over their manifest intention of enslaving the world and murdering anyone who opposed them. There was no thought of a reconciliation with them or coming to an understanding of past differences. We fought the Nazis to crush them not to end a rebellion. To end their existence, unapologetically.

From the German POV the utter destruction they suffered was brought on them by their own psychotic Nazi countrymen. The culpability of every German in that was not lost on them. They took the lesson as intended, that there was nothing to honor about the path their country had taken. No cause to esteem the bravery or well fought battles of their warrior’s sacrifices. No noble intentions sidetracked by an ignoble cultural institution. Nothing redeemable at all.

There is no comparison there to the Civil War or the Confederate Army and their supporters their causes or their actions.

That is point to perfection. If the South had won the war, they would have split from the Union. The stars and stripes would have not been preserved in any way, shape or form in the new country.
