A lovely weapon with very inferior ballistics. I would suggest you shoot cheap ammo unless you are hunting deer. Hornady makes great ammo for this but would suggest a more powerful weapon when hunting deer.
It is a lovely weapon but far under powered for its original mission.
It is a lovely and beautiful weapon but that is all it is. I do not have one in my collection as they are to damn expensive today. I should have bought one 50 years ago.
If under 100 yards and a deer or human it is okay. Otherwise I would suggest something more powerful.
You can say that again. What I paid for the thing would come close to getting me another M1A. I don't plan to hunt with it, and troubled times notwithstanding I hope never to even point it at a human being. In discussions about firearms with friends we've put the carbine along with other platforms like the No. 5 Enfield, Winchester 94 etc. into a niche we call "intersection guns." I'll accept and enjoy it for what it is, but I definitely want reliability and to get the pest performance I can out of it. Thanks for the comment.
