CLEVELAND -- Eleven Cleveland Browns players knelt in a circle during the national anthem prior to Monday's preseason game against the New York Giants.
While the group knelt behind the Cleveland bench in front of the Gatorade buckets, several other players stood nearby and put their hands on a kneeling teammate's shoulder in support.
Those who took a knee were tight end Seth DeValve, running backs Duke Johnson Jr. and Terrence Magee, safeties Jabrill Peppers and Calvin Pryor, cornerback Jamar Taylor, receivers Kenny Britt and Ricardo Louis, linebackers Chris Kirksey and Jamie Collins, and running back Isaiah Crowell (who was not in uniform).

The stats I saw showed Black families in the 1930s had an illegitimacy (there’s that old-fashioned term) rate roughly equal to White families of the 1990s. It was about double the White rate if measured in the same time period.

I’m through with the NFL. Get rid of Goodell and set sensible rules. Then Maybe I’ll return.
Goodell only does what the team owners tell him to do.
As such, one can deduce that owners are OK with this and learned nothing from last season’s ratings drop. They’ll be sitting around in a couple of years looking at worthless franchises and wondering what happened.

I hope the protest goes completely viral and many many many more players "protest". It will just normalize things and it will sanctify the National Anthem and those who truly do want to show their gratitude and patriotism. Who here really wants those who don't get it to fake it?

The only thing keeping the NFL in business now is the sports betting and fantasy football. Take those away and the NFL would sink like the Titanic.

Same here, grew up midway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh ... I stopped watching years ago because for so long they have just been so bad.
When I moved to NY I was told by natives that I had to choose ... since I have always hated the Giants, I started to follow the Jets ... now they are as bad as the Browns in every respect; a huge disappointment every year.
