Just read that the Cowboys are the most valuable franchise in the world at $4.2 billion. Yankees are second at $3.7 billion.

I was surprised to see that the Manchester United soccer club is third at $3.69B.

Heck no, the Dodgers team was around for an entire generation before the Yankee team (which started in Baltimore), which didn't even EXIST until the 20th century.

The Cowboys are even worse, a mere expansion team created for the purpose of chasing the AFL Dallas Texans over to Kansas City so the NFL doesn't lose the money. Football was an American Institution in the days of Knute Rockne, Jim Thorpe and Bronko Nagurski. If you want to talk about a would-be America's football team, you really have to think in terms of Bears and Packers, not the kinds of teams that helped make the NFL the mess that it is today.
