A week after Equifax disclosed it suffered a massive data breach that may have compromised sensitive information belonging to 143 million people, the credit reporting agency's chief information officer, David Webb, and chief security officer, Susan Mauldin, are retiring, effective immediately, the company said in a statement Friday evening.

I bet "retire" as in they get to keep their gold plated retirement packages and stock options. These two people had one job and they utterly failed. They should have been eliminated with prejudice.

Yeah, I’m thinkin’ their retirement will be a tad more cushy than mine. Then again, another recent failure’s retirement is cushier than mine too. Lyin’ king.

They put a music major in charge of corporate IT security!

But, she had the right other credentials (i.e. a vagina).

No options for this crew. They sold their stocks two weeks before the breach was revealed to the public.

Phew! It’s a good thing they decided to sell their fat stock holdings in the company before the hacking became public, or they may not have had enough to make ends meet during their retirement. Lucky them.

They probably just need to “spend more time with family”.

Can’t any corporation just tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth—just once?

It would feel so good....

Lucky for them, they don’t work in China. Their way of “retirement” is a bullet to the brain.

Ya know, we toss around numbers and terms but lose perspective.

143 million people is about 15 million people MORE than voted in 2016.

News reports call these people, “customers”....but they really aren’t. The people whose information has been compiled and placed at risk are ANYONE who has a CC, bank acct., insurance, shops on line, has a telephone (LLO or cell)...etc. Chances are pretty good that if you are reading this post, your info has been placed in greater peril than normal thanks to the “stewardship” of EquiFax

Don't you wish you could be so absolutely fail at your job, destroy the credit rating and security of 150 MILLION of your customers and gracefully "retire" with a multi million dollar "PLATINUM Parachute" package without facing any repercussions, prosecution or jail time?

All I can say to this travesty of justice is: "LOCK THEM UP, LOCK THEM UP!"

I checked and my data has been compromised. Equifax is offering a one year credit monitoring service at no charge. However, my information will be available forever. So what can I do? I never gave Equifax permission to warehouse or use any of my personal data. This situation begs for monetary compensation and a lifetime of credit protection service. Where can I go to obtain such?

I’m starting to believe it was more sinister than that. I’m thinking they may have each been offered MILLIONS upon MILLIONS to fail to do their jobs. And now, they will each enjoy extremely cushy retirements.
