I can just imagine.
Thanks for the list. Looks like some good additions.
My iPhone 6+ is the perfect weight. I hope they don’t make it lighter. When a phone is too light, it gets harder to keep it safe.
Oh gezzuz, more updates? Every time these AH’s put out an updates, they’re more like viruses...And then they rearrange everything as if that’s what people wanted, so they can learn where everything is all over again.
Gak~
They embed these updates with small bugs and other undocumented features which will bog down your phone...slowly frustrating users to entice them to go out and buy the new iPhone. After all, if your current phone is working fine there is no incentive to upgrade to a new $800 phone with largely the same functionality.
Downloaded, so far so good. Like what I see so far.
Make sure you have adequate backups, and can revert to the former software. One way is to make a clone hard drive, then you can swap back to it in order to use an app that no longer works after the upgrade. Been there, done that.
Been there done that too many times as well. With certain devices every time I get an update warning I get the hebegeebees. What some of these people consider updates, I consider a viruses.
Today I got an update notice on one of my apps on my Mac, it's Drive Genius, a tool for fixing hard drives like defragging etc. The purpose of the update, is to stop the app from working if my Mac were updated to the latest version of OS X. Until they can come up with a proper update of Drive Genius, they don't want you crashing your hard drives if it hiccups with the new OS X release. Cool. An update to make your app fail on purpose! Needless to say, I won't upgrade OS X until Drive Genius provides a proper update. I did some work last week on some 6TB drives and would not want them crashing with a data loss, if I were to do more such work.
Updated the iPad Pro: Took just short of an hour to get the whole thing done (45 minutes just for the download) and from first glance it....well, it’s definitely got a different look. Plus it SEEMS to load pages on Safari a bit faster.
Okay, so it looks different but the stuff we need to see it do shows up when it should and it seems to go faster.
We’ve gotta take it outta town to do some work tomorrow so I’ll get a better idea of how it’s working then.
Now, I guess I get to stay up until 10:30 or so getting the update on the SE’s. Going to be a sight to see all of that cutesy display stuff they put on the iPad on that 3 1/2 inch screen on the SE......
(Or maybe I’ll just have to get some stronger reading glasses.)
My android phone is heavy too. I like it this way. I know it is there. Also heavy means older battle tested electronics inside. Not the cutting edge.
After reading reviews and doing comparisons on cellphone cameras, I bought my Sony Xperia.. It had the best camera at the time.. It has features Apple is just now putting into their phones. Though I must say, the new Apple is tempting! But at that price I can resist!
I have read that there are issues with bluetooth and sharing and that the new iOS does not really turn them off thru the screen but only through settings.
Is it worth the upgrade?
The Control Center turns off the BlueTooth Radios, it does not turn off the functionality by disabling the entire applications. That's the way it has always been. The Control Center is intended to be a temporary Ad Hoc control for use on the fly. If you want to turn off the functionality, you use the Settings panels.
Thanks. I just downloaded to my ipad.
I'm still trying things out. Safari is a lot faster. Some things are different. I kinda like the new look. So far, I think it is.
The Control Center switches for BlueTooth and WIFI is a red herring. The functionality stays available, but the radios are turned off when those buttons are pressed. It just doesn't toggle off the selection in the Settings app.
You can select your news sources from a list of sources. It's more limited than I would like, but there are some conservative choices on the list.
