Harrison Ford is back? I guess his character is NOT a replicant, after all. (Or they’ll have to explain why he’s an old man.)

Easy. Replicants live only as long as their telemeres allow at the end of their DNA strands.

Id Harrison’s character was given extra long telemeres then he would live much longer.

It takes a replicant to catch a replicant.............

Decker was human, both in the book and in the film Blade Runner. The new film is more a sequel than a remake. Ford appears as Decker long after the events of Blade Runner and is begin sought after by a new Blade Runner.

Theories are already circulating. The most prominent is that Dekard is a Nexus-7 model (Roy Batty was a Nexus-6). A Nexus-7 model has a variable lifespan, dialable by the corporation. Who knows how long Dekard will live?

It also makes a lot of sense: Hunt skinjobs with a better skinjob. Dekard is not stronger than Leon or Roy, but he's clearly more clever.
