Pittsburgh Steelers Team (Except 1) Boycotts National Anthem in Protest Against Trump
PJ Media ^ | 09-24-2017 | Michael van der Galien

You can say a lot about President Trump (for instance: that he would be wise to focus all his energy on passing TrumpCare rather than on having a Twitter war with the president of the NFL), but man, does he know how to get the Crazy Left to show their real faces or what?

"Expectations were that Trump's remarks were going to lead many more players to protest Sunday. Jamie Erdahl reported that Mike Tomlin, coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, told him that the entire team would stay in the locker room before its game against the Chicago Bears."

Let me get this right: the Steelers (except one player) decided to bash the entire country and the whole American people by boycotting the national anthem because of a few angry tweets from President Trump? That's how you get back at him? By insulting everybody else? Great idea, geniuses. No wonder you guys get paid to crash into each other rather than by, say, performing brain surgery on a patient with a brain tumor.

What's most amazing about this to me -- a Dutchman analyzing it from afar -- is that these men are highly paid millionaires who owe everything they have to their country and their fellow countrymen (who are positively obsessed with sports). Racism? What racism? When I watch an NFL game, I see that many if not most of the players are African Americans. They're getting paid extremely well, they're highly successful, very respected, every kid in the States want to grow up to be just like them... oh yeah, and they live in mansions the size of a small country.

The Steelers are done here with me. That brave West Point grad and Vet is the only real man on the team. Tomlin should hang his head in shame.

Absolutely! I don’t even follow NFL football very much, but he’s a real man. The only one, apparently.

OH honestly if they wanna stay in the locker room and cower in fear of the national anthem. That works for me. What bothers me is them making a public spectacle of it.

Have these people forgotten who is their audience?!

Only one honorable man there in that entire stadium. The fans and the rest of the Pigsburg Steelers are ZERO.

I think they have led such insulated, charmed lives since their younger days (when their sports aptitude became apparent) that they may have parted ways with much of reality long ago.

Thank you Mr. Villanueva, you are a true American. I am sorry the Football League has spat upon you and your fellow warrior heroes.

Clear evidence that college is wasted on football players who get scholarships to play for a certain team. Congress should adjust the tax code to make an athletic scholarship taxable income. If colleges want to hire athletes, let them pay the income tax as well.

NOPE...the entire Chicago Bears team STOOD arm in arm during the anthem. The scumbag coward Steelers "led" by their racist coach didn't even take the field.

While idly channel surfing I came upon the new england game. I didn’t stay long enough to see who the opposing team was.

Wow, Doug, this true patriot came out against orders from his coach and saluted our flag?!? That is not mentioned in the article (only “except one”). He brings a tear to my eye.

Mark Twain used to write about how stupid some Americans were. Nothing has changed. These players don’t have a clue what real institutional racism is like. My dad did. His country took away his passport and tried to burn him alive. These guys don’t have a clue but they are willing to be jesters for the global Left.

Bravo for Chicago. May they win on the field too because they already CRUSHED the foolish steelers.

Spare us your fake strategy advice. It takes no “energy” to tweet a message — far less energy than the anti-Trump owners will have to expend saving their businesses.

This man does deserve respect, indeed: https://twitter.com/NewtTrump/status/912000832970854402

What a hero. And note, the peer pressure was on him to stay inside. But screw it, he thought, ‘I’m not going to disrespect the flag I served.’

Ranger Villanueva a true American

True Infantryman, Ranger and a Combat Infantrymans Badge. More moxie than all the rest of the team combined. Hope he was at Mess in 2012 when I attended the 199th Infantry Reunion and had Mess with that summers Ranger trainees. Grunts and Gyrenes, the best of the best.
