There is. He has violated the UCMJ because he has advocated a political position while in uniform. He may have also violated Army uniform regulations by wearing the Che Guevara t-shirt while in uniform. I’m a Marine so I’m not familiar with army uniform regs.
Because he served as an enlisted man in combat, the Army should schedule him for a psychiatric analysis, which will determine he needs institutional psychiatric care until he is “stable” enough to be discharged and turned over to the VA.
I’m old enough to remember assholes like Rapone being tossed out on their heads from the military for espousing a communist ideology.
Absolutely correct. I read “The Venona Secrets: Exposing Soviet Espionage and America’s Traitors” by stalwart commie-fighters Herbert Romerstein and Eric Breindel a couple years ago. And those bastards never, ever go away. They lay low, change tactics, metastasize into new forms (BAMN, antifa, OWS, etc), take over our institutions, indoctrinate our kids.
“Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America’s Enemies” by Stanton Evans is sitting in my library waiting for me to pick it up. It is so depressing that I had to put away reading for communism and totalitarianism for a few years.
Should happen this time too.
You got that all right....
Exactly.
At least not in this dudes case.
Either works for me. I’m thinking option 1 would be more painful for him.
A monument should be built to honor Joe McCarthy at the same time the commie West Pointer is booted out of the military.
Yes, agreed. Tip of the iceberg. Bell curve and all that goes with it.
Good point.
Fire up the wood chipper, a.k.a. a taste of Saddam-era socialism in Iraq.
From Wikipedia:
"...Julius Rosenberg had worked as a radar inspector at Fort Monmouth in 1942 and 1943. It is from the fort that he was accused and convicted of stealing proximity fuze plans and passing them on to the Soviet Union. Documents released by Russia after the Cold War showed that Julius Rosenberg was indeed a spy. Joseph McCarthy claimed in October 1953 that Julius Rosenberg had set up a wartime spy ring at Fort Monmouth, and that the ring might still be in operation. Two Fort Monmouth scientists, Joel Barr and Alfred Sarant, fled to the Soviet Union. The hysteria surrounding Fort Monmouth and the Rosenbergs was not limited to Julius and Ethel; others with the last name Rosenberg (or Kaplan) lost their security clearance for no reason other than sharing a name with communists..."
(This, from Wikepedia is interesting on two fronts: First, that Ft. Monmouth was riddled with Soviet agents, not just the Rosenbergs, but many others, and they had an open and busy pipeline passing classified data of all levels to their Soviet handlers. Secondly, if anyone doubts the leftism of Wikipedia, and why it should never, ever be trusted as a political source, that last sentence beginning with "...The hysteria surrounding Fort Monmouth and the Rosenbergs...". There damn well should have been hysteria there. We had a white water river of information being sent to the Soviets from there.
There was also a dentist on the base, an Army Captain named Irving Peress who had been promoted to major, and was scheduled to be given an honorable discharge.
He was a full blown communist in full view in the US Army, but kept getting transferred from post to post one jump ahead of people on the base who would realize what was going on. (I think he had help in staying ahead of it too, since his security records were "misplaced" at some point.)
When he was inducted during the Korean War and given the rank of Captain in the Army, commensurate with his status in the civilian world, he signed statements denying he was a communist, subversive, or fascist etc. When he came to light and was asked questions about his time at Camp Kilmer in New Jersey, when asked if he tried to recruit military personnel into the communist party, had communist party meetings in his home with military personnel, if he had organized a communist cell at Ft. Kilmer, or if there existed at that time an active communist cell at Ft. Kilmer, he claimed Fifth Amendment rights on all of those questions.
This created another stink for McCarthy when he had General Zwicker on the stand (the commanding officer of the base, who was supposed to be a 'friendly' witness for McCarthy) and General Zwicker began to be evasive and uncooperative (regarding the lenient treatment of this communist Army officer who had been given promotion and was scheduled to be honorably discharged) which really ticked off McCarthy. When McCarthy asked him if someone who had lied, was a communist, and took the fifth when asked those questions should be retained in the military honorably, the General said yes, he should. McCarthy blew up at him and said: "Then, General, you should be removed from any command. Any general who has been given the honor of being promoted to a general and who says 'I will noprotect another general who protected Communists' is not fit to wear that uniform, General. I think it is a tremendous disgrace to the Army to have this sort of thing given to the public."
This is much the way I feel, but the general was a decorated WWII veteran, and the left used it to mobilize the Army-McCarthy hearings which eventually did McCarthy in.
I admit fully to feeling as McCarthy did, when I see this case of this Communist, Marxist Scumbag being passed from command to command, admitted to West Point, lying on his oath and being given a commission. There had to be hundreds of Army personnel from privates to generals who knew about this guy.
Everyone in the chain of command is “down with the shtruggle”.
The rest have been run out.
I don’t see a source for your material, but if you haven’t done so already, I recommend the book, “Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America’s Enemies”, by M. Stanton Evans. It’s absolutely loaded with well-documented facts about the appalling infiltration and number of communists and communist sympathizers entrenched in our government from Woodrow Wilson and forward. These monsters have been at work to destroy America in every way possible for almost one hundred years. Another informative book is, “Witness”, by Whittaker Chambers.
Read it...bought the hardcopy, audiobook, and digital copy!
I even wrote a letter to the author, telling him how much I appreciated his work, but don’t know if he got it before he passed on.
Best. Book. Ever. (about McCarthy and communists in the government)
Agree.
Dem Jason Altmire
Thanks. Excellent background on Ft. Monmouth and the Soviet spy ring there.
You wrote “There had to be hundreds of Army personnel from privates to generals who knew about this guy.”
Absolutely. He is SO brazen and out in the open about his communist beliefs (not simple leanings). There have to be many others who know about him and are complicit. The honor code apparently no longer requires cadets and servicemen to turn in enemies.
