It’s Tom Bensons. What Benson should’ve done is issued a blunt order for his team to stand respectfully for the anthem. End of story
Nah, Brees made the statement and he, more so than any other team I’ve observed, is the true leader of the team and a huge member of the community. This is on him. He didn’t have to join the protest. He could have been a true leader and stood by his convictions. Instead, like Jerry Jones, he went against what I’m sure are his true beliefs and sucked up to the brothers. Pure cowardice.
But yes, the owners can nip it in the bud if they choose to. They too are cowards.
