Text messages show the campus went on lockdown just before 10 p.m.

Security forces said they believed the incident was taking place at 5220 Cedar Drive, home of the academy’s prep school.

The school has made headlines this week after five black students were targeted with racial slurs left on message boards outside dorm rooms.

Well this is academy that a the previous issue with somebody there putting up racial slurs and the head military guy came down on on them all...”Respect and show dignity to all or get out!”...that video went viral today . So might be some kid trying to add flames to the fire to make it a further issue. Time will tell.

It gets to me, too. I didn't serve, but I have great reverence for those who did.

My father was an army poet. He got in just after WWI, and wrote what he heard from the vets of that war, who trained him. Poetry is an amazing way to encapsulate memories and experience in a few words.

UPDATE:

Law-enforcement has completed a search of the dorms on Air Force Academy grounds.

..... No injuries and no active shooter.....
