It’s a streaming media box. We dropped our cable almost 3 years ago and got a Roku3. Have never looked back. Got it at Walmart. It’s not for everyone - especially is you like your sports, but we’ve found plenty to watch. Lots of free channels and some pay, like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Sling.

We did the same after the MEEEE-Gyn Kelly interview with now President Donald Trump.

Cut cable, put everything on Roku.

Now it is too difficult to watch TV. Between Sling and other options, there is too much to choose from.

Standard cable TV should be dead in short order, the Roku-type streaming options are just too good not to roll over them.

My kids, now grown, are "on demand content only" viewers. I don't know how cable TV grows their market in the future with these new options. "What I want, when I want" is the new and future model.

Roku is excellent - we have Filmstruck which is the Criterion Collection (foreign and American classic film) and Britbox which features classic and modern British television programs. We also have Netflix & Hulu but don’t use it as much.

If you add Sling TV with the sports pkg. ($25) you'll have more sports than you can watch. I add it during football and basketball seasons, then drop it.
