Patton was certainly more refined in appearance than George C Scott. And Patton’s voice was not gruff or loud. He had a mild non-rhotic accent that he must have picked up from his Virginia ancestry.

Interesting - I know a guy, skinny, quiet, smart, does art and sculpting - looks the part. Later I found out he was a Ranger Special Forces in Vietnam!

Well, I don't think George C. Scott was a "looker", and neither was Patton, but I think Scott nailed Patton's "persona".
That's what really matters.
I have no idea how Patton was IRL, but I sure bought Scott as being a tough SOB.
