As I pointed out to you, several low level grunts have already been indicted and have taken a plea deal back in 2015. Rosenstein prosecuted the case.

Yet you think there was nothing illegal with the Uranium One deal.

Take your dumb Clinton propaganda video and link it some place else. You're wasting everybody's time.

Well, it's somewhat assuring that you have at least expressed an opinion. For awhile there, you were exhibiting traditional trolling 101 techniques by always criticizing, but never offering your own position or opinion.

OK, so you're on record thinking Sessions is a weasel and Trump is perhaps a coward. Now we have a starting point. I think others, besides myself, would be interested in hearing why you hold these thoughts. I'm not saying you're wrong; there are many who are open minded and would like to examine alternatives. If Hillary is indeed guilty, but she is not being pursued, then there's a whole lot of explaining that needs to occur.

The only downside risk is that to label Sessions a weasel and Trump a coward is to paint them in the worst kind of light. Especially since the US has troops deployed around the world, with individuals fully expected to sacrifice themselves in the line of duty in order to protect our freedoms. What you are suggesting is these two are so craven, so cowardly and so corrupt, that they are willing to hide behind these brave men & women to protect their own reputations & careers.

Have at it, I'm all ears. You have FR has a platform to express your views and attempt to convince others. The dark fear is that you are right. That would mean the never-Trumpers & GOPe are correct.

Your blurb is not about “Uranium One,” its about actions outside of its scope.

DJT is the man, in the end he always has his facts straight. None the less the scenario put forward is pretty out there and if it’s true DJT will have superpowers.

Since DJT has not claimed to have superpowers I cannot take it to be true.

If this does prove true DJT can claim to have superpowers and I will concur.

Exactly my interest in these issues. Without equal justice before the law, there can be no true Republic.

What you are suggesting is these two are so craven, so cowardly and so corrupt, that they are willing to hide behind these brave men & women to protect their own reputations & careers.

You started off well but now you're putting words in my mouth. Cowardly does not necessarily mean corrupt, it means cowardly. And I never said Trump was even cowardly, I said he looked weak by whining on Twitter incessantly that there's nothing he can do to ensure equal justice is being applied.

My guess is he's being threatened that he'll be impeached if he makes any moves on DoJ, in fact even Republicans like Graham keep saying all hell will break loose. So Trump would potentially be sacrificing his Presidency, and all the other good he's doing, so that's not necessarily cowardly ether, but more strategic. He just is left to look weak if he continues to whine on Twitter about it, which is damaging to his ability to lead.

The points of my post you conveniently seemed to ignore, were those that were targeted at Mueller and his supporters, that are dividing our ranks with unsubstantiated claims he's working directly for Trump with no real evidence to support it. When are you going to put those folks under the microscope, as you seem so interested in doing to me? They are, after all, supporting the person(s) responsible for Trump's campaign manager being indicted, which is leading to further calls for actual impeachment.

“Uranium One” is how the whole overall scandal is referred to, by everyone except for you. All these posts from you were just so you could play some semantic game, quite obviously. Whatever, you lose.

I’m not pushing anything. Just posting information that challenges a lot of the Freepers here in panic mode over Jeff Sessions. Maybe they’re right, but Trump sure does plan a good long game, and that’s what I’m betting on.

“Contrast that to what Sessions said about his own recusal, that he had no choice.”

Good catch.

a lot of the Freepers here in panic mode over Jeff Sessions.

I don't know of anyone in panic mode over Jeff Sessions, we're just expressing the same concerns that President Trump has been, most every day on his Twitter account and in interviews with the press. You have seen the President's statements of disappointment, if not bewilderment at his compete ineffectiveness, I hope. If not, I'll be happy to provide a large sample. Thanks.

It appears our interests are aligned. I'm not overly concerned about Sessions or Mueller. My primary focus is Trump; in that regard, I'm not trying to pressure you. Beside, apparently LS is no longer here to defend his assertion(s), which could be construed as an implicit admission of defeat.

Trump is a coward if he believes he is personally at risk and his presidency threatened by the pursuit of justice. What good can he actually accomplish if treason is allowed to stand? His only chance for success is sweeping Congress in 2018. But, in order to achieve that task, he must demonstrate to his supporters (and detractors) that he has the nation's best interests in mind. And besides, by allowing his sworn enemies to not only survive, but to re-group and launch another series of attacks doesn't necessarily allow him to push the MAGA agenda further either.

Either by hiding behind Sessions, or impotently tweeting and appearing a fool before millions, Trump is single-handedly destroying his brand. To be honest, that doesn't seem logical, given that he sacrificed a lot of time, energy & privacy to reach the office.

Doesn't it make more sense, given what we know about Trump, and his history of taking chances, that he recognizes this existential threat? After all, everyone else watching from the bleachers seems perfectly aware what is transpiring. Why would Trump, of all people, have this kind of blind spot?

I think we can all agree that Trump needs a breakout maneuver. Something big, something bold. Otherwise, the swamp will take him down.

Scandle is in the mind.

The profeteering game has gone on for over a quarter century, and involves more than 90% of senators that have served in that period, along with all of the Bush, Clinton and Obama regimes.

Uranium One is a young thing, and likely the only part that isn’t in violation of law.

Exactly who are you looking to prosecute?

Yes, this is the core of my own fear of what is happening, and why I have such short patience with those defending Sessions, or especially Mueller, for no good reason it seems. However, there are some good reasons why Trump hasn't fired Sessions YET.

First, the already mentioned reason that he is basically being blackmailed by guaranteed impeachment. But secondly, even though it is well within his authority, there are good hearted reasons why it is current tradition for the President to take a hands off approach with the DoJ, at least publicly. Not that I believe that was happening with Obama, but I do understand why it possibly should.

This could explain the berating of Sessions and the DoJ that Trump has apparently resorted to, or been reduced to, depending on your opinion. He is trying to make the case that he has been patient, to help provide him cover if/when he does lower the axe. He would have Grassley and Nunes and others arm in arm to show that it wasn't desired, but required, and other branches of government agreed.

In the meantime, he needs to be talking about these new Clinton investigations in the House and Senate, and use those as leverage on the DoJ, if he's not going to order the DoJ to do it himself. Otherwise, he'll continue to twist in the media wind, and suffer long term damage to his brand as you said while waiting for more pieces to perfectly line up before he pulls the trigger.

My guess is he knows this, and is not playing footsie with Mueller or playing games on his Twitter followers as some here seem to think, but is getting close to lowering the boom himself, if he has to.

On that we can agree. The current situation cannot stand, so it won't.

However it occurs, it will definitely be fireworks time.

If this is true ... this is beyond 4-D chess. This is J. Michael Straczynski writing out 5 years of interconnected, complicated Babylon 5 storyline *and* building in backup character arcs and story twists for actors who might exit the series.

Bottom line Trump now needs to focus his Twitter feed on the new Clinton investigations in Congress, and bring the legislative branch members into any plans to discipline the DoJ. He missed a good chance to do something to them himself when Mueller overreached with charges that had nothing to do with the campaign.
