Do believe in hunting and fishing laws?

Do you think a license should be required to drive a car?

Do you believe in building codes?

Legalizing Marijuana is a Terrible Idea

Having Tyrannical Law is an even worse idea.

People don't even know what Freedom is...

I heard about these threads.

Don't mind me, I'll just be over here eating popcorn.

This is better than football by a mile.

There have been many threads on this very Topic in recent months.

And we will probably see similar things said here that have been said already.

Those in favor of legalization argue from the libertarian Viewpoint that it’s up to each individual to make their choices regarding what substances to put in their own body.

Those opposed to legalization will say that marijuana is a dangerous drug and laws were passed against its use for good reasons.

I am not sure where I stand personally. I don’t use recreational drugs so this issue does not impact me personally. But I’m interested to see others opinions as to how far Society should go to protect people from a perceived Danger.

I don’t use the stuff. But, marijuana should be legalized, not because of revenue, but because of liberty. Yes, it is a neuro-toxin, but so is alcohol. Our drug laws are just another form of Prohibition. If people want to smoke the stuff, why do you care ? Look, if you’re going to support the continued criminalization of marijuana, you, as a matter of logical consistence, must support a return to alcohol prohibition.

Police and courts should start doing their jobs to arrest and disarm the dope fiends instead of lobbying to disarm everyone else. It’s the law.

I disagree with the author. Cannabis should be legal to have, use & produce at the discretion of the individual states & their citizens.

Yup. In terms of stupidity, the War on Drugs is right up there with the War on Terror and the War on Poverty. Let’s end all of them.

And citizens that are easier to control.

Especially by leftist. The way m. causes one to think and experience life easily leaves people open to leftist propaganda. How many leftist smoke m. compared to those on the right? I think the numbers would be telling.

Anybody inclined to legalize, are you inclined to have stores selling as well? What if this store is in your town? What if this store is next to your "high" school?

Mind you, first, that these stores will, almost by rule, operate solely on a cash basis. That is because, whatever individual states do, it remains a federal offense, and thus no bank will make any arrangements with any recreational marijuana business, and will not facilitate credit cards.

And, most important, where would you, if you wanted to open a store to sell marijuana, place one? If that was me, which it is not, and my only goal was to create a sucessfull and viable store, I'd go for the local high school vicinity.

To that end, here are some of the products that would be highlighted at the store - on the counter, on the shelves, perhaps in the window:
